Teej

I think that infidelity is a matter of trust and breaking of trust. It is almost always sexual in nature, but it doesn't have to be. Breaking faith with a significant other, whether it be through sexual actions, or through actions of denial, neglect, or abuse can be, in my opinion, an act of infidelity. What counts as infidelity how ever is somewhat subjective according to both society, and the individuals with in the relationship.

For example "open marriages", the couple have an agreement (hopefully a mutual one) in which they may engage with sexual activities with people outside the marriage. They may even go as far participating in each others liasons. Society, on a whole see's this type of marital arrangement as strange, abhorant, and immoral, society will see the actions of the couple as a form of infidelity. Though the couple, if mutally agreed to the nature of the relationship, may not consider this form of sexual activity as infidelity at all. They do not feel as if they are breaking each others trust, as long as they follow the mutually agreed on rules of the relationship.

The issue of infidelity, in my opinion, is guided by the trust that individuals create in the relationship. When the trust is breached, is when infidelity occurs.

CAN YOU BELIEVE THIS?!!!!

I hope none of you folks registered to vote through these assholes.

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4107720

To Gen, I wasn't trying to attack you, I hope you didn't get that from me (this is why I advoided stating my opinion on your comment list) just stating my opinion, and giving sources for people to research the subjects themselves. I do think abortion is wrong, but legal abortions are better (despite the horror stories) than the alternative: If a woman is going to have an abortion done, it is better that she goes to a facility set up to do that kind of procedure than to a back alley hack job who will use a coat hanger. As for me refering to Tom (and you'll notice he didn't touch this one, he's wise like that), in case anyone was wondering, his area of study is medical ethics. He is well read on this subject and will and does have resources that none of the rest of us would be privy to. (Dry trade papers on this topic). As far as stem cell research goes; as far as my understanding is they DO NOT use fetuses from abortions, at least here in the states. They use fetuses from in vitro clinics that are left over from the procedures. These fetuses are almost all going to be destroyed. I'm for using them personally, but thats just me.

To JayC, I've based my entire system of belief out of being a hypocrite. I'm very proud of it, and I'm open aobut it... so there.

To Eric. GO SOX

oh and one more thing, I think is pretty important:

Happy Birthday Tom!!!!

Here's some links... a few, I haven't read through them all. Just for facts, nothing more. First on stemcell research.

now for the other:

http://www.abortionfacts.com/

http://www.prochoice.org/

http://www.pregnancycenters.org/

http://www.priestsforlife.org/

I tried to pick links that show both sides here.
Enjoy.

Wow, Gen has posted some food for thought, and a topic of conversation.

I will defer to Tom for most facts on for both stem cell research and abortion, too my knowledge he probably knows the most on the topic out of all of us on this board.
How bout it Tom, give us some facts and sources to go to? I know you don't usually like to get into this stuff, but I'm not asking for arguments, just facts. Only offer your opinion and point out argumentative flaws if you want to.

I will ask Gen this, are there ANY instances in which abortion would be considered all right, or acceptable? And, if so what are they?

I personally do not think abortion is a good idea, adoption is, in my opinion almost always a better option. I am a 'pro-choicer', if I'm anything, however. How could I be? Well a couple of reasons, the first one is too complex for me to get into in a simple blog, it would take a few months more research than I have done and require about 30 pages of text to really get into to my satisfaction. Mostly it has to do with human nature, govermental sex education programs, abortion and adoption law and the economic situation with most abortion patients.
The second reason: I dislike like the way pro-lifers have dealt with the situation in the past and today. Something is wrong with their perpective, when it's evil to kill a baby but ok to blow up a clinic with people inside of it? Both sides are both extreme, but those on the pro-life side border on fanatic, and I rather dislike fanatics.

ON another note.
How's everybody been? I'm well, or well enough. I'm just gearing up for the show next week and auditions for another set of shows in Novemember.

It's been lovely up here in Utah the last few days. Not getting above eighty, the leaves are changing, gradually. I get chills during the fall, alot of my poetry (older stuff) has to do with the fall.
Halloweens just around the corner, that makes me happy, because that means that Thanksgiving is just on the way. Whoohoo. I'm a glutton, I'm also lazy, Thanksgiving was made for me.
I really need to find a nice Canadian girl to marry Annette so I can celebrate it twice.
I'm thankful everyday, (I really am). But thanksgiving is one acceptable social occurance to eat alot of really tasty food. And I like that.
Now for the moral implications.

There are three people on bitchcake who haven't posted since august.... dammit post.

Man what a nice day.

i long for a moment
a memory
of those times that have waned
and faded from my mind
to feel your eyes looking at me
and the tickle of your laughter on my skin
i long for sound of your breathing
it calms me
i long for the look
of your hair falling across your face
like a veil
i want to feel your heartbeat
cadence through my body
i want to know you're with me
i long to hear your smile
play across your lips
one more time
