FRANKS GEEKDOM SATURDAY (Where have all the geeks gone).

It used to be, way back in the day, that the internet was the realm of geeks and lonely men looking for porn.
Now... not so much.
Oh, don't get me wrong, there are still alot of geeks on here, and lonely men, but so called 'popular' people, and non-geeks are now all over the place.
Particularly on these web logs and live journals.
Don't believe me.
On my links, over to the right every link that leads to a woman's blog, leads to a lovely woman's blog.
I've since joined myspace, and most people are the pretty ones, the same with tribe.net.
Blows me away.
What happened?
When did the geeks lose control?
Doesn't matter.
It's cool in my opinion.
And, it's about time.
Why?
Because maybe the stigma of being a geek will be slightly less.
If more geeky things become acceptable to wider groups of people, well then, they can't make fun of us for doing it any more.
Things like video games are bcoming more popular every year.
Now we need to see wider acceptance of: rpg's, ccg's, ttwg's, cmg's.... wait... could it be possible that all acronyms are part of the stigma?
Nahh...
The only thing that will remain permant geeky things to do, i think will be Live action roleplaying, and anime... sorry all you LARPing anime geeks.
Any way, in a seeming non-sequitor, here are some quizzes from quiz zilla that were posted on a friend of mines blog, and i took... for no reason than i'm a geek.
And lets admit it, these quizilla quizzes, are pretty damn geeky.

The first one:

Napoleon
You are Napoleon Dyanamite and a buttload of gangs
are trying to recruit you.

Which Napoleon Dynamite character are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Yep, apparently I'm not nearly as cool as I was thought.

the second:

folknik
You are a Folkie. Good for you.

What kind of Sixties Person are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

I'm not even sure what a folky is, but i'm thinking it isn't a goddamned hippy, and for all of you who say i look like one... well piss on you.

the third:

you suck, and that's sad
you are the "you suck, and that's sad"
happy bunny. your truthful, but can be a bit
brutal.

which happy bunny are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Yeah, you suck.

earth
You are an Earth Fairy. You enjoy being around
people, but sitting in the middle of the
wilderness reading a book or just admiring the
scenery is more your style. A sketchbook full
of wildflowers and wildlife, you're fascinated
by the great outdoors and what lies beyond. But
being so spacey can lead to disaster. You might
miss the next assignment in class if you keep
staring at that bird out the window. Try to
focus a little more on real-time life, but
don't give up your habits to become one with
nature.

What are you? (10 different outcomes)
brought to you by Quizilla

I'm a fairy... an earth fairy ( I TOLD YOU IT WAS FULL OF GEEKS!!!)

And finally:

*************

Your wise quote is: "The best
antiques are old friends" by Unknown...
Your buds is the source of your happiness
(maybe not all but still). Even if it's just
one, a couple or a whole group they are the
ones you can't wait to see. It does not matter
if you're shy with everyone else or not, with
them you let your true spirit shine and can be
as loud as you want. They accept you, and you
love them for that.

Yeah, that's right... you guys... you all make me happy.

Carry on geeks.

Carry on.

two things

No, this isn't the geekdom yet.
Yes, i'm doing it tonight when I get home, look for it tomorrow... all one or two of you who actually read my blog.
Two things:
One, I'm sick of work, i'm sick of people (though not tired of seeing all the lovely ladies), I'm working the impossibly rare split shift today, leaving for a couple hours in about fifteen minutes.
Two: this is just funny, apparently 'playing with the family jewels' can make you blind if you take viagra before hand.

More on dancing

Well Katrina, I'm glad somebody's paying attention.
When I say that sex is the primary instigator, I'm not in any way insinuating that it is the end all goal, in fact I state clearly that it is Love that is the end all goal.
It's the physical need however that drives us.
Once involved on that level of relationship, the two go hand in hand.
There has to be a physical connection, not even neccesarilly sexual, just intimate in someway.
I was not stating that the physical isn't important, it is, but it doesn't HAVE to be sexual.
Often times however, the desire and the level of love and comittment is enough to istigate the sexual connection in a relationship.
Intimancy is the important part: holding hands, cuddling, hugging, a slight touch, a tender peck on the cheek.
None overtly sexual, though common enough in sexual partners, and typically if there is that level of intimacy in a relationship it will increase.
I'm a humanist, and an agnostic, and possibly a theist (I know that's alot of shit to be, some of which is counter intuitive), and I believe there is a primal drive wired into us to procreate, it's this that is the instigator.
It's this urge for sexual satisfaction, which in and of itself is empty with out the love and friendship of the other, that leads us to do the dance.
I've not been dancing like I should.
Too many trip ups, discouragements and depressing end results, mostly my own doing.
But the underlining catalyst is there, and the ultimate desire for the end result is there too.
I can have sex. Yeah big fat hairy me can find women to sleep with him, and often time's i'm tempted.
But ultimately it's empty, with out "the romance".
That isn't to say that it isn't pleasurable, there is just no substance.
With out said substance, the dancing must still ensue.
