Steve Irwin's dead.
i don't grieve for people i didn't know personally, and this is no exception.
it's not that i didn't like him, far from it in fact, just a personal police i have.
i'm not surprised.
when i read it there was an "oh, that's too bad" but no real shock or dismay.
here's why:
the man interacted with wild, dangerous, hazardous animals on a daily basis.
this was his job.
he wrestled crocodiles, played with poisonous snakes, and provoked mangy varmots.
now, i know that he knew what he was doing.
i know this because honestly he had been doing it for... well for his entire life.
but these animals he interacted with were more than simply wild, that's dangerous in and of itself, but they were WILD and DANGEROUS.
so no i've no surprise that he was killed doing what he trully loved to do.
i am surprised however that it didn't happen sooner.
his work will not be forgotten: both the entertainment that he gave us, and the honest conservation and naturalist work he did.
he was a pretty up standing guy.

another time....
