FRANKOLA: That delightful flavor, that delightful texture!

So I'm going to bitch again.
I'm going to bitch about movies again... nothing this weekend. Absolute shit!
And remember "Napolean Dyanamite"?
IT'S STILL IN THE GODDAMN THEATRES UP HERE!
How long must I suffer that films presence?
I honestly don't care that it was filmed in Preston Idaho.
I'm tired of driving by the theatre, seeing it on the marquee.
If one were to illustrate the local theatre going audience here in Cache Valley, it would be a bunch of blank faced passive morons gladly sitting through what ever drivel the theatres want to show....

GAHHHHHHHHH!!!

Now for a little rap (not rant) on god.
Sort of in response to Gens comment, sort of something I've wanted to touch on for a while.
I don't blame god (yes I'm keeping it small case on purpose) for anything, maybe in the spur of the moment passion I'll utter: 'why me god?' but it is a convention of language more than anything.
One must understand that the concept of god has changed a great deal since ancient man first settled on the banks of rivers and began to farm.
The ancient Hebrews, who kept an oral tradition for a long time after settling in the valleys and coasts of what is now Israel, had a completely different idea of what god was then the mordern jews do. By the time they began writing these teachings and laws down, the concepts of god had changed. The concept of god further changed when they began clashing with the phonecians, and further again with the babylonians (the term Baal comes from the babylonians, which actually mean "lord"). By the time Christ began teaching the concept of god had changed significantly, and further changed after Christs ministries. The influence of Zorastianism and Eastern thought and philosophy creeped in to the concepts, and despite the roman catholics efforts to wipe out these ideas, they still appear in the bible, both in the new and old testaments.
Each of the philosophers in the middle ages and renasiance contributed to the change in perspective of god. The rise of Lutheranism and Calvanism both had a large inpact.
And the current evangelical trend that is prominent in this country are about as far away from the original Hebrew concept as you can get, while still having the same source.
So no, I can't say I blame god for what happens to me, or JayC's sister.
Nor do I blame Satan.
I can't explain why JayC's sister has had these terrible circumstances occur with each birth.
It is a mystery that fathoms me, and apparently the doctors can't answer. But do I think god's responsible?
No. Because if there is a god, and he is resoponsible for suffering and evil, as well as joy and good, then he's as wicked as he is benign.
There are simply things we can't answer yet.
And pointing a finger at a concept that most of us have little understanding of isn't going to solve those problems any sooner than shrugging of the shoulders.

With all of that said: "Why God is Napolean Dynamite still in the theatres here?!!"
