Something's been bothering me.
Something about my friend Kip.
Yeah he's a wierdo, and a geek; but so am I; I mean seriously I 'm writing a dark comedy about a serial killer and a demon, and I spend my saturday nights playing d&d (and I wonder why I'm so sexually frustrated).
No what's bothering me about him is the fact that I've noticed, and mind you this comes from being around alot of books on the topic, that he looks like Socrates.
Balding, pudgy faced, with a large bushy beard.
Same type of baby face and nose.
I've seen countless photo's and illustrations of the philosopher, and I'm dismayed by the likeness.
I keep envisioning Socrates with a silly hat and a cigarette dangling from his mouth.
Now don't get me wrong, I like Kip, he's a nice a guy.
But it's creepy, knowing that he's a Hellenist (worships Greek gods... don't laugh), and admires greek philosophers, to see a likeness of him on the cover of books.
Yes, creepy describes it.

So I've noticed a couple of things lately:
1) I'm becoming an asshole at work.
That's sad because when all is done, my job isn't too bad. I don't have to deal with the underbelly of society like Joel.
I don't have to tolerate overbearing stupidity like my friend Kip.
Nor do I have the noise levels Tom has.
My job is low key, laid back, and overall not bad.
But still, I'm becoming more and more cynical and mean.
I'm tired of certain aspects of the job, but even those things I'm tired of have no real bearing in the greater picture.

2) I've become less inclined to work diligently while at work.
I'm the only one here, for the majority of hours the store is open, that runs the store.
Me, that's it.
I take care of the customers (in a subtly rude manner).
I answer the phones (in an obviously rude manner).
I process the orders for shipping most of the time.
I order certain supplies that the store needs too.
Now don't get me wrong, there are other people that work here, two of which are capable, and do do some of those things I mentioned above.
But they're only here about twenty hours a week, and they are usually here at the same time.

I've noticed these problems, because problems they are, and I'm trying to fix them... I'm not succeeding very well at all.
I need to get out of the valley for a few days.
I need a weekend of mindless revelry.
And I need....
well we won't get into that one.

Have a merry weekend.

later...

Ok, I have to admit it; I really dig this comic. It cracks my shit up, and some how relates to my life.
I think you'll dig it too, well some of you will.
Here's another sample of it to whet your appetites. Enjoy!

Some of you are wondering what "Fitzlephisch" is?
Will de feck wit ye! Ye'll find out soon enuf
Of course some of you know.
I'm hoping to put a read through together for the first act the begining of Janurary.
Sadly, I live several hundred miles away from several of the people I can imagine playing the roles. I've cast the play in my head already with all of the Vegas crew...
Too bad i'm not down there to have you guys read.
I've got back ups though, there are some folks up here that will fit the bill just fine.
I'm pretty excited about this play. I'm just too tired tonight to do anything coherent with it, which is why I'm babbling on here instead.
None of you mind if I babble right?
Good, I didn't think so.

I've been reading this web comic that Tiny clued me in on called "something positive", I love it.
It's twisted, and messed up, and some how true to life.
I'll post a link to it on here.

Well, I've watched the Extended Edition,... it's sadly over.
Or is it?!

Well; another weekend and another couple of movies, a play, a small celebration with cake and milk (no ice cream) to celebrate my fathers b-day.
The movies were ok, frivilous fun that made a few hours pass rather quickly.
The play was good, well acted and directed.
My only complaint was not being able to hear the actors a couple of times, partly due to the people behind me running a commentary on what was going on during the show.

As for plays I want to give a big congratulations to both JOEL and TEEJ for their reviews in Waiting for Go-Dot.
For those of you who are interested and not from Vegas, or on Bitchcake here are the links.
