Easy come, easy go.

Well, I had an interview today for a second job. Curtesy of Ryan, thanks Ryan.
I don't know what kind of chance I have of getting the job.
Probably not much, as it would be a second job and I was straight forward with the gentleman doing the interview about having the first one.
He did seem to like me, and appreciated the fact that I was intelligent enough to answer the test given.
We'll see.
I have a couple of other options, if this one doesn't pan out.

I'm still listening to Raga with deep interest.
I really like that piece of music.
I've also taken a fancy to a piece called Terphischore, by Bob Margolis
It utilizes different renasaince modes and tunes.
Very cool piece four movements long about twenty minutes total.
If any of you are interested in listening to them, email me, I'll hook you up.
(I know this is unlikely, but still).

Nick, why don't you post the dates and time for your show, I'd like to come down to it if possible.
As for the other show, well I misunderstood you initially.
I'd still like to work with you on it if possible, at least led my services as some one who is moderately musically literate.
Email me or give me a call man.

Kevin Doyle's been comment.
Hi Kevin.
I don't know if your taking new members Erica... but you should consider him (as well as everyone else).
Kevin if you're reading this, send me your blog link, I link you my site if you like, I'd like to see what you've got to say.

AS for the rest of you.....

I hope you have a lovely day.

Well... it's over. The election that is.
There are many folks who are satisfied with the outcome.
There are however, many who are not.
I cast my ballot yesterday with the faint optomism that I would be happy with the results.
And I must admit I'm feeling a little like both Eric and Tiny.
Bush has won reelection, I'm not pleased, but as a citizen who voted at least I know that I'm not alone.
I hope that there is some progress in the next four years, both at home and internationally.
I hope that Bush doesn't malign any more countries against us, and that he makes an ernest attempt to gain back the trust he lost with those he has.
I hope that he doesn't jump to any hasty combat situation based on faulty intelligence.
I hope that his ingnorant optimism in Iraq is not a pipe dream as I sincerely believe it is.
I hope that his domestic policies both on economic issues and education really work in the next four years instead of being mediocre at best.
I hope that he doesn't push the gay amendment issue again; it's bad enough there are eleven new states that have such a ban written into their constitutions.
We don't need to discriminate against an entire group of individuals just because there doesn't seem to be a difference in the majority of the political right's mind between the religious "sanctity" of marriage and the social/legal benifits of marriage.
I hope that Bush gets rid of Ashcroft.
If Ashcroft or his lackies have read the blogs... well as it has been said before; so much for the first amendment.
I hope Bush realizes that he did make mistakes, many mistakes, his last four years and I hope that he can learn from them.
And hopefully not repeat them.
If not, then I too as with Tiny "wait with a heart full of terror and a belly full of rage".

I don't understand how an adminstration that duped the public into a war, then acted like there was no mistake made or no wool being pulled over the eyes, can manage to win reelection.
I suppose it has to do with no incumbent every losing a reelection in a time of war.

How empassioned do you have to be with religious fervor, angst and hatred at another group of people to kill a member of that groups society?
What about a member who's there, not as a part of military operations, or because his government sent him there, but for business? Or to help those individuals who have been affected by the war without fighting in it?
The civilians.
Are the business men and women in Iraq as responsible as the soldiers for the fighting going on there?
Are the soldiers as responsible as the government who sent them there.
And what about those doing humanitarian service, should they be held in hatred and violence also?
How fanatical do you have to be to take a dull machete and hack someone's head off?
Ignoring thier screams as you do so.

I'm tired of the war in Iraq.
I'm displeased that the government sent men and women into a combat situation that could have been, and should have been advoided and a peaceful resolution found.
I'm distressed that instead of hitting the threat of terror head on our country has only exacerbated the situation.
I'm tired of innocent people who are in Iraq to help their families back home finacially, or want to help the Iraqi people, being kidnapped and beheaded.
I am exhausted at all the uneccesary violence.

It's sunny today.
It looks like it will be sunny all day today.
First time in two weeks.
It snowed yesterday and Saturday night.
The only evidence of which is on the mountains.
The Wellsvilles were dusted off in the distance towering over the valley.
They are the steepest mountain range in the world I'm told.
They are intimidating.
The leaves are raining gold.
Bits of red.
I love the fall.
I love the colors.
I love the nights.
It reminds me of the "good old times", which weren't always good, nor that old.
Mostly though, and this can be viewed as a negative it makes me miss friends of old.
From high school;
Freston... who's blog I check out occassionally.
The Sandman who's link I just put up.
Lauralee, I don't know what happened to her, I loved her in my own way though.
I love the fact that her smile could always brighten up my day, any one's really
Big Chris, Gentry, Richie... those guys... I miss them too.
Even Henry and Tim.
I miss them all.
From College...
Johnny, Ian and Tim... those guys were a hoot, and good company.
Jonah and Jeff, they were my first friends up here at the University.
Syd Snarr... last I heard she was married and in Texas.
Rachel and Kierstin, I still talk to them both, but I miss them in the fall.
There is of course some of the readers of Bitchcake: Joel, JayC, Erica and Teej.
The fall is meloncholic, but it also brings me a fond recollecting of those people I love or have loved.
But time marches on.

Remember to vote.
