So I'm wearing sandals today...... with socks.
I don't aprove of doing that, normally.
I usually keep it to myself, but today I'm a hypocrite.
I banged my toe this morning, still hurts like hell three hours later.
I put the sock on because it's chilly out, and my other shoes hurt my feet; hence the sandals.
Also to help my toe... in case it's broke.
I'm fairly certain I broke a toe on my other foot about two months ago.
It's getting better.

I've been pricing Carter Brown mystery books here at work.
They all have one thing in common, an illustration of a scantily clad woman on the cover.
These are woman of the sixties and seventies, some of them vuloptous, others waiflike.
All of them in some sort of state of undress.
The books are thin pulp books. I don't even know if there is a real market for them.
I've been doing this for a few days now and no orders as of yet.
But the covers do make me nostalgic for a time I didn't even experience.

I've decided I want a laptop.
My desktop PC I use for internet and writing is about dead.
The CD rom drive doesn't work, it's slower than molasses (I'm only about ten years behind everybody else), and the cool games that I have - which don't take much to run - I can't run.
A laptop would alleviate some of the issues I have right now about room in my bed room.
Plus it's transportable and I can take it with me.
I'm not looking for anything fancy, nothing incredibly new, just something that is better than what I have right now.
So there.

Tonight's foto call.... I hate foto call.

I have some house work to attend to... and instead I'm at work.

That sucks.

I need a day off... from everything. Man I'm looking forward to Sunday, I'm going to do laundry, and play X-box all evening.

What do you all think of that?

You will notice that I put links up... finally.
The person who has kept a blog the longest here, and I finally I have links.
Erica had links right away.
Joel too....
Now I finally broke down and did it, mostly blogs but there will be other things.
For the non-bitchcake members and for the geeks
...and for those people that I simply don't like.

You know who you are.

I'll blog more later... you can count on it.

HOW ABOUT THOSE SOX?!!!!

Well, it's still cloudy and rainy.
But it hasn't snowed down in here in the valley.
That's good.
I woke up with phlemn in my throat this morning (I know you all wanted to know this).
I'm not happy about that. It's not sore, but I'm not taking any more chances.
I'm sucking on tasty logenzes with the power of vitamin C... whoo hoo.
The play is going well.
It's not a spectacular show, I wish it were, but it isn't.
It is however going very well, no MAJOR mishaps. And it is entertaining, and fun.
I am a dumb ass when it comes to costumes though.
I've never had more than two costume changes in a show before. (In one show I "Changed" on stage, that one was my favorite).
I have seven changes for HOLES. Most of them are shirt changes... but still, I have to take stuff off and put it back on to get the shirt on.
Thats my woe at the moment.

Joel; I love you man!
It sure kicked ass talking with you.
I was upset you didn't call on Sunday, but shit happens.
I'm going to state here what I said yesterday.
You aren't any more boring than I am, or JayC, or Teej, or Tom... or anyone else, you just have enough common sense not to express your opinions on the blog....
I don't care, do it any way.
I've decided to buy a phone card to call you more often my friend who looks like Jesus. Oh yes, oh yes.

Bruce: man I'm stoked! I'm going to see the Incredibles now for sure.

Annette: HA HA It snowed where you are....

JayC: Joel told me something about you last night.... oh yes he did.
It warms my heart actually, I have to be honest.
But after hearing what Joel had to say, I HAVE to come down now.

HOW ABOUT THOSE SOX?!!!!

It's cloudy today, and once I've decided I'm awake enough to focus, I'm going to be in a good mood.
It's cloudy today.
IN fact, up on the mountain tops, high above this sleepy little conservative mormon town, there has been a sprinkling of snow.
Like light powdered sugar on a doughnut.
Mmmm... doughnut.
It's lovely and cool today. The ground is damp from the clouds efforts last night.
I had to huddle under my blankets this morning, and I love that.
As long as they keep me warm.

I have a show opening tonight.
I want to say it's going to be a good show, I'd love to say it's going to be a great show.
I'm not sure I can.
The production has been plagued with problems from the begining, from finding actors to fit the role, to the set and the set changes, to there not being enough comunication between the directors and the designers.
We went through it last night, it went... well, I suppose.
It worries me a little when I'm told that I'm a "breath of fresh air".
There are still problems with the show... but, doesn't matter now.
We have to work through them.

Nick, as far as stealing ideas: well it's ok to still ideas. It's ok to still concepts.
As long as its not the same show.
The key to taking concepts and ideas from another source is to make them your own.
In order for what ever you're working on not to be a total rip-off you have to own it.
If you and your cast can 'own' the concepts and ideas and utilize them in such away as to give them a new twist, then I think you're ok.
If not... well, then you're probably doing something wrong.
-On a personal note, about the music... I thought you were going to do this show next year? I could have helped you out with the music had you done so. We could have even found a way to bring in live musicians for the show.
There's so much more to this topic that I haven't even touched on...but, let's see if anyone else responds.
