Ryan; good for you man. I don't think any less of you for not doing SITI. Keep in mind that while yes, what they have to show is really cool and useful, it's only one philosophical approach to your art. Something else that's useful is real life experience. The experience you're getting by being with your wife is probably just as valuable, you can take that with you to the stage. How many of the students doing SITI can fully comprehend the experience you're getting from being with your wife? Three, four at the most. Anybody who questions you as to why you're not doing SITI, then looks down at you for it is a fool. Art, in all of its forms is a seductruss that can enslave the artist, anyone who is a true master of their craft, isn't a slave to it. Part of not being a slave is to know there are things that are more important than your art. Family, and loved ones should be one of those things put above art. I think you made the right decision, and anyone who tells you otherwise simply doesn't understand.
