so...
there is drunken revelry above me at this moment, 2:24 in the a.m.
the girls that live in the apartment above me have apparently decided to throw a party.
and yes, this is house, but it is a house that has been divided into 4 apartments. 3 of the apartments are currently occupied: one by myself, the middle apartment by the party throwers who are being pretty damned noisy for 2:30 in the morning. and the attic apartment by a nice little mormon couple. the wife plays cello.
now i'm all for having a house party, but i don't think these ladies have realized that they aren't the only ones who live here.
i hope this isn't a frequent occurence... cause i may have to turn into a big prick if it's going to be.
and i'll be honest
i'm ok with that.

Come on Frank, don't you remember Castle Grey Skull? 2:30am is early and the parties used to just get started around then. Of course I do go to bed now at 8:30-9:00 and have forgoten the days of Castle Grey Skull myself. Hope all is well, talk at you later.

true nick, true.
i haven't forgotten greyskull. but remember in greyskull our immediate neighbors were a towing company that had nobody sleeping in it, and a gas station that was always open. and we contained ourselves to the garage and the house (there were some exceptions, but these are few an far between). we had no other apartments in the house with us, and at that time, no one near by with many small children. that's not the case here.
i live in my own apartment that happens to be part of the house. i've everything self contained: kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living space. the girls live in a different apartment that is also part of the house, and they did nothing to contain the party really, as it was spilt out on the front lawn, the side lawns and the back lawn. one credit we have a grayskull is we maintained a good amount of control over the situation. we only had the cops show up once (to my knowledge) and that was well after the party was over. (and i think Jesse and I were the only ones to have interacted with them).
so while it may seem pretty hypocritical of me to decry my neighbors for their party, the main difference is, we weren't disrupting people living in apartments immediately next to us, and we contained our parties to fairly restricted areas. if i were living in the house next door (or an apartment in the building nearby, i'd probably have no real complaints, hell i wouldn't have even bothered to blog about it. but as the party was going on right above me, well... my sympathy is pretty limited.
but i strive to be decent. i won't simply call the cops on them. i will approach them, and ask them to be quiet first... then when they tell me to "shut the fuck up" as they probably will, that's when i'll call the cops.
