clouds languidly cover the blue sky, shielding us from it.
the weatherman says that we're doomed to the weather this weekend.
snow.
rain.
nefarious wet and cold that seeps into our flesh and chills our bones with delightful mischieviousness.
it won't be long now.
a day.
maybe two.

thanksgiving, i hope, has found all of you in good spirits.
gathered together with friends our family.
tom and i went to another aquaintance of mine's house and dined with him, and a friend and his family.
it was very satisfactory.
we chatted, my buddy jeff played a game with his son, we all watched charlie and the chocolate factory, which i had not yet seen.
it was all well and good.
tom was tuckered out, mainly because he hadn't had the common sense to go to bed the night before.
after dropping him off at home, i went home and bided my time with cooking food for today (tonight i suppose, as i didn't actually bring any food with me here to work).
and reading various useless, yet interesting facts off the internet (i now know more about jack kerouac, allen ginsberg, and neil cassidy than i'd ever hoped too).

erica, please relay to your friend mr. lorenz how absolutely stunning that self portrait is.
i'm awed by it. it's the most real and human thing i've seen in a long while.
thank you for sharing it, and thank your mr. lorenz from me for sharing it.

so what?

so what did you do with your day off, the day of thanksgiving?
