allright Annette... i'll post.

i've come to some conclusions of late
1) our country is ruled by a tyrant. not Bush, though he is a douchebag, no, the extreme conservatives that control Bush like a puppet. if Bush, and his "cronies" (i wonder really who is the crony of who) haven't committed grievious crimes, then i'm not a fat guy.
2) the only christian religion i could become actively involved with are the Ammish, or possibly the Menonites. yeah, they are crazy religious folks, but they seem to be the only christians that actually yeild to Christs teaching of turning the other cheek.
3) i need a couple of days off. (soon... real soon)
4) we are too obsessed with money here in the west. to obsessed with things. too obsessed with social status. with all the wealth the west has (particularly the U.S.) there is no excuse for homelessness, for every citizen to not have health care, for every child not to have a full belly and a warm bed to sleep in.
don't get me wrong, i'm as much to blame as anybody reading this...
but it's good to know.

Canada's (socialist) healthcare system is available to everyone. Most people pay a monthly fee, but you can have that fee waived if you are unable to pay. Unfortunately, there is still a huge problem with this. The wait times to get into see a specialist, have an MRI, or get any surgery that isn't immediately life-threatening are absurd. Don't even get me started on the problems in rural areas! Furthermore, by the year 2020 the baby boomer generation is going to take a huge toll on healthcare. We (Canada) will have to put in approximately $16 billion to accomodate the high population of seniors and where is that money going to come from? Higher taxes?! Almost half of my piddly paycheque is already going to the government. The US is in even worse shape, particularly with the trillion dollar war they can't seem to end or get out of. Let's all move to Sweden. They have one of the highest qualities of life and health care and social supports are available to everyone. Vive le socialism!
